- The Bund Shanghai's Most Famous Waterfront: Walk along the Bund, Shanghai's famous riverside promenade. On one side, you see grand old European-style buildings from the 1920s and 1930s. On the other side, across the river, the ultra-modern Shanghai skyline sparkles. It is one of the most stunning views in all of Asia.
- Oriental Pearl Tower Shanghai's Iconic Landmark: This extraordinary 468-metre tower is one of the most recognizable buildings in China. Ride up to the glass-floored observation deck and look down at the whole of Shanghai spread out below you. At night, the tower lights up in spectacular colors.
- Yu Garden Shanghai's Beautiful Ancient Garden: In the middle of modern Shanghai, there is a 400-year-old classical Chinese garden full of rockeries, koi ponds, zigzag bridges, and traditional pavilions. It is a calm, beautiful escape from the busy city streets.
- Shanghai to Beijing by Bullet Train A 350km/h Ride!: This is one of the most exciting parts of the whole trip. - The Forbidden City 600 Years of Imperial History: Just behind Tiananmen Square stands the Forbidden City the ancient palace of China's emperors. It is the largest palace complex in the world, with 9,000 rooms across 72 hectares. For 500 years, ordinary people were not allowed inside. Good to Know Before You book Thailand China Tour Package from Nepal
Here
is all the important practical information you need before travelling from
Nepal to Thailand and China. Written simply so it is easy to understand.
Visa Do Nepali Citizens Need a Visa for Thailand and China?
Nepali
citizens need to apply for a Chinese Tourist Visa and Thailand Tourist Visa before
travelling. You will need your passport, a completed application form, passport
photos, a hotel booking, and flight tickets. Guru Travels will guide you
through the entire visa application process.
Tip:
Apply for your Chinese visa at least 3 to 4 weeks before your travel
date. The Chinese visa takes longer to process than the Thai visa. Our team at
Guru Travels will help you prepare all the right documents.
What Is the Best Time to Visit Thailand and China from Nepal?
- October
to April is the best time for this combined tour. During these months, both
Thailand and China have pleasant weather. In Thailand, it is dry and sunny perfect
for Pattaya beaches. In China, the weather is cool and clear ideal for outdoor
sightseeing at the Great Wall and Tiananmen Square.
Avoid
visiting China in July and August (very hot and humid in Beijing and
Shanghai). Avoid Thailand in June to September (rainy season). The
overlap of good weather for both countries makes November to March the
perfect sweet spot for this dual-country tour.
Tip: December to February is the most comfortable time for this trip. Bangkok and Pattaya are warm and dry. Beijing can be cold (sometimes below zero!) but the skies are clear blue and the Great Wall in winter is magical and far less crowded.
What Money Should You Carry
- Thailand
uses Thai Baht (THB). As of 2026, about 1 USD equals 33 to 35 THB. You
can exchange USD to Baht easily at the airport or at money changers in Bangkok
and Pattaya.
- China
uses Chinese Yuan (RMB / CNY). As of 2026, about 1 USD equals 7.2 to 7.4
CNY. Exchange USD to Yuan at the airport or at banks in Shanghai and Beijing.
In China, mobile payments (WeChat Pay and Alipay) are used almost
everywhere, but as a tourist you can also pay cash. Guru Travels will advise
you on the best way to manage money in China.
Tip: Carry enough USD before leaving Nepal. Exchange to Thai Baht in Bangkok and to Chinese Yuan in Shanghai. Keep some small cash for markets, tips, and small shops in both countries.
How Do You Get from Nepal to Thailand?
Fly from Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport) to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport BKK). There are direct flights and one-stopover flights. Direct flight time is about 3.5 to 4 hours. Guru Travels will help you find the best and most affordable flight option.
How Do You Travel from Bangkok to Pattaya?
Pattaya is about 150 kilometers south-east of Bangkok. Your private guide and vehicle will drive you there on Day 1. The journey takes about 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. It is a comfortable and scenic drive.
How Do You Travel from Shanghai to Beijing?
You
will travel on China's famous high-speed bullet train (CRH China Railway
High-speed). The train travels at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per
hour and covers the 1,300-kilometer distance in approximately 4.5 hours.
It is one of the most impressive and comfortable train journeys in the world.
The train station is clean, modern, and easy to use. Guru Travels will arrange
all your train tickets in advance.
Tip: Sit by the window on the bullet train and watch the Chinese countryside fly past at 350km/h. It is genuinely thrilling. Have your passport ready you need it to board the train in China.
What Should You Wear?
- Thailand:
Light cotton clothes for the tropical heat. Cover shoulders and knees when
visiting temples. A light rain jacket is useful in shoulder season.
- China: In spring and autumn, layers work best warm during the day, cool at night. In winter (December to February), bring a proper warm jacket for Beijing. The Great Wall can be very cold and windy in winter. Comfortable walking shoes are essential throughout the trip.
