All 13 batches are now open for booking, covering the full pilgrimage season from late April through late September 2026. Six of these batches depart on Full Moon (Purnima) dates, ensuring pilgrims reach Lake Mansarovar on the most auspicious night of the lunar month.

6. How to Book Your Departure 

Step 1 — Choose Your Batch: Select from the 13 batches above. Full Moon batches are recommended for maximum spiritual experience. Contact us to confirm current availability. 

Step 2 — Share Your Passport Copy: Send scanned copies of your passport to Guru Travels Limited to begin the Chinese Group Visa and Tibet Permit application process. 

Step 3 — Pay 25% Advance Deposit: Your spot is confirmed only upon receipt of the advance deposit. Remaning balance is due upon arrival in Kathmandu. 

Step 4 — Arrive in Kathmandu: Arrive on your batch's 'Kathmandu Arrival Date' (non-Indian passport holders needing visa: arrive 4 working days before Tour Start Date). Spend 1–2 days for briefing, permit collection & Kathmandu sightseeing via our Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour.

7. Which Batch Is Right for You? 

For Maximum Spiritual Merit → Choose a Full Moon Batch 

Any of the 6 Full Moon batches (April 25, May 24, June 23, July 23, August 21, September 20) ensures you arrive at Mansarovaar on Purnima night. The June 23 Guru Purnima and August 21 Sawan Purnima batches are considered the most spiritually powerful. 

For Best Weather & Clear Kailash Views → May or September 

May (Batch 2, 3) offers clear pre-monsoon skies. September (Batch 12, 13) delivers the most crystal-clear post-monsoon air. Both are ideal for Kailash Darshan and photography. 

For Fewer Crowds → April or September 

Batch 1 (April 25) is the quietest — season opener with fewer pilgrims. Batch 13 (September 20) is the season closer — equally peaceful and offers spectacular autumn clarity.

Guru Purnima (23rd June) and Sawan Purnima (21st August) are considered the most spiritually powerful. Guru Purnima is the most auspicious day for receiving divine grace and blessings from Lord Kailash. Sawan Purnima falls in Lord Shiva's most sacred month — experiencing Mansarovar under a full moon in Sawan is described as a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual event. Q6. How many days is the Kailash Yatra from Kathmandu to Kathmandu? 

Each departure batch runs for approximately 10 days from Tour Start Date to Kathmandu Return Date, plus your 2-day arrival buffer. Q7. Can I join a departure batch as a solo traveller or small family? 

Yes. All 13 departure batches are group joining departures, meaning solo travellers, couples, and small families can join an existing batch without needing to form a full private group. You will travel alongside other pilgrims from Nepal, India, and around the world. If you have a group of 15+ people, a private departure can be arranged on preferred dates. Q8. What happens if my preferred departure date is full? 

If your preferred batch is at capacity (common for Full Moon departures), Guru Travels Limited will offer you the nearest available batch. To secure Full Moon dates — especially June 23 and August 21 — we recommend booking 4–6 months in advance. Q9. Is there a season deadline — what is the last departure of 2026? 

The last departure of the 2026 season is 22nd September 2026 (Kathmandu arrival: 20th September, Final departure from Kathmandu: 3rd October 2026). This batch also coincides with Bhadrapada Purnima on 20th September — making it a Full Moon finale batch. After this, winter snow begins to close the Tibetan plateau routes and the 2026 season officially ends.
